As part of the Research and Development (R&D) department, the embedded software engineer will have a crucial responsibility in developing software for our routers. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the creation and integration of proprietary and third-party technologies, ensuring a comprehensive and cost-effective design.
- Proficiency in C programming at an expert level.
- Extensive experience in Linux/Kernel development and debugging.
- Strong background in DPDK and virtualization on Intel and ARM chipsets.
- Demonstrated expertise in software development for multicore environments.
- A keen interest and aptitude for embedded software (firmware) and software architecture.
- Knowledge of tools such as Gitlab/git, Jira, Jenkins, and unit-test frameworks is highly advantageous.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Proficiency in Dutch and French (verbal) is an additional asset.
- Designing and implementing telecom/datacom protocols.
- Creating software architecture, systems, and building blocks.
- Collaborating closely with a cohesive project team to develop, debug, and optimize designs.
- Documenting your software designs for clarity and future reference.
